Brazil produced a dominant performance at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium, beating India 4-0 in a highly anticipated international clash.

The atmosphere inside the stadium was festive from the start, with Brazilian flags filling the stands alongside enthusiastic Indian supporters. Once the match began, however, Brazil quickly took control of proceedings.

Brazil dominated possession and repeatedly put pressure on the Indian defence. Their first breakthrough came in the 28th minute when Estevao converted from a Matheusinho assist to put Brazil ahead.

The visitors doubled their advantage just before half-time. In the 42nd minute, Pedro found the net from an Estevao assist as Brazil went into the break with a 2-0 lead.

The pattern remained unchanged after the interval. India spent much of the second half defending against Brazil’s relentless attacks.

Samuel Lino made it 3-0 in the 58th minute, leaving India with a mountain to climb.

India tried to reduce the deficit but could not find a way through Brazil’s defence. Lino then completed his brace in the fifth minute of stoppage time, sealing a convincing 4-0 victory for Brazil.

Brazil finished the match with 65 percent possession compared with India’s 35 percent. India goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu also made several saves to prevent the margin from becoming even larger.

While the result was disappointing for India, the match provided valuable international experience against one of world football’s most prominent teams. For the Kolkata crowd, meanwhile, it was a memorable night watching Brazil’s stars in action.
